NDK and the 102 photos I took were a rousing success! Thanks to everyone who so quickly viewed, favorited, commented, and added me to their watch due to my pictures. Unfortunately, a bunch of the photos I tried to take didn't save because I was still learning the ins and outs of my new camera and I misunderstood the directions in the quick start book. I found a really great Ryuk cosplayer whose photos didn't get saved, so wherever you are, you did a great job and I wish I still had your pictures.
I pretty much accomplished all that I wanted to with my cosplay this year, as I started planning it back in the spring. My goal was to make a militaristic version of Itachi's Akatsuki garb, so I bought bright white army spats (which I still can't find being sold by anyone other than the vendor I used), jungle boots from a military surplus store, SWAT tactical pants, and some under armour. My only plans to improve the costume for next year are to buy the GE licensed necklace, which I saw in person for the first time this weekend, and continue to adjust the jungle boots, which I had to cut into to reveal the toes. They scratched up my feet pretty good, so hopefully I can do some things to make that not happen next time.
Despite how many shots of ourselves that we took, it still wasn't enough for me. I didn't get the chance to take any at night and I realized I didn't have nearly as many of myself with my goatee as I planned, but there was one shot in particular that more than made up for it. I have some beginning plans for some alternate costumes for future conventions, but you'll all find out about those when the time comes! Stay flamin'!
